Been Awhile / Thursday April 28,2011

Well it has been a while and since my last report it is still raining.

Out early, and it is daylight now on my early morning runs, but the rain does make the golf course a lush green as it can get

The paths are winding and the cart bridges over Cool Creek are just the hovering over a rising fast moving creek

My runs have been slow , the rain keeps me out of the trails on my mountain bike , but all in all spring hasn't been to bad.

I am ready for the temperatures to stay above 60 , and for the lawn to slow down its growing so I only have to cut it once a week , but that is spring.

May is a round the corner and I will head to Cincinnati tomorrow with End Result for timing and scoring of the Flying Pig Marathon and other races connected with the weekend. Then the 500 mini to run , next Saturday, drink some post race beer, head to Carmel to time the Pups cross country race for 4th and 5th graders and finish with another beer and the Kentucky Derby o the big screen

May is really busy , but I cannot complain, as I get to do whatever I feel like to these days

Back In The Saddle Again 3-27-11

It didn't snow last night as predicted, the sun is out and it is 40 degrees and windy. So what to do ?

Rake the yard, watch the Indy Car race , NCAA tournament to see who Butler gets next Saturday, Nascar race , take a run, OR

head to Towne Run and shake down the mountain bike.

Well the bike won so air up the tires and off I go! 15 miles later I am back with a Mad Hatter IPA, some chips the last half of the race and then UK and NC in the NCAA.

The trail was in wonderful shape, the flooding did move things around and added a couple new obstacle's but if I were in riding shape it would have been really fast.

It felt great to start jump and weave thru the trails , each lap more comfortable . My running will now begin to improve .

Last year the riding motion helping my lower running parts stay very loose for my morning runs . My back felt great and the runs in the morning kept the cardio good so I could motor around the trails .

So with the extended weather forecast , I should be able to ride every night this week . That is good this time of year because a good 2 day rain can shut the trail down for a week or more .

The plan is to hit the River Trail Park for 7 mile run. After this ride it should be really good .
