As training begins for NYC, Fridays will usually end up with a shake out 3 mile , day off kinda, for a possible Saturday race and a long run over the weekend.
Friday at this time of year is massage day every other week. As the time winds down to the 26.2 mile race, and long runs on Sunday get longer and more intense, massage day will move to Mondays, as will the easy 3 mile run.
As I have said, this plan always has worked for me when marathon training. I sure doesn't mean I will run good, as in any marathon their are to many variables leading up to the gun.
If you have done any marathon you know, if not it's weather, food leading up to that morning, hydration that morning, nerves ( that went away a long time ago ) proper clothing for weather, dry feet at start, wind , so many things.
I believe on that Sunday morning in NYC in November it will be a perfect fall morning looking across the bridge to Manhattan !
Memory's flowing big time this morning. 15 times before , a 8am flight to Boston for Mondays race. 2011 again, guaranteed!
