Marathon Weather
A day off work and a morning I hope to get in New York this fall. 50 degrees, sunny and calm. It would be the best.
So as I am having a great run mid-morning, this screaming siren sounds off. It is not storming, the sky is a beautiful blue, No F-16's flying over in dogfights with a MIG-19, so no war going on, Ahhh it 11am on Friday morning. The weather siren test, I remember this from a kid, their was one right next to my school.
So as I head south on Hazel Dale Parkway 400 yards north of this monster, it has a piercing shrill scream as it rotates in a 360 degree circle.
Blasting my ears about every 10- 15 seconds, my timing just was the wrong time to pass it's location.
So for about 800 meters I plugged my ears every lap of the siren, until it's 2 min drill was over.
Other than that the run was one of my better one's, it felt so easy. The training mode in me has returned and the goal of NYC is dangling out in front of me.
I downloaded this crazy countdown timer to NYC and if I can figure it out I will have it on blog.
8.5 miles really felt good
