Running in the Rain

This morning was a 10 miler. 6 AM , daylight, but on the morning news , the weatherman says , heavy rain 18 minutes from Carmel.

He was right, but after 5 minutes of drowning like a cat in pouring rain, the run was pretty awesome.

73 degrees and a steady rain , is really refreshing. No sun pounding down, the humidity is not stifling and it,s just a good running environment.

At about 4 miles I made a change in direction and headed to Cherry Tree Road. This was the road back in the day most of the races passed over .

Brings back memories of the good ol' racin' days rolling down Cherry Tree.

The rain slowed down to a light drizzle but no sun or wind, it was great.

With the 10 miler in the books , and a Facebook notice about NYC Marathon, well I guess I have a little competition .

Haile Gebrselassie will run this year. The first time he will run a marathon in the USA. He is pretty good, 2:03:59 , for yes 26.2 miles, that is insanely fast, 4:44 a mile, 26 times in a row.

Well Geb, be ready , I'll be there and toe the line with you, but think of me after you shower and beer cause I'll only be able to hang with you for say 100 meters ..... 50 meters
