Busy Sunday

After I got home went to breakfast / brunch , then headed to southside for my Grandson Kyle 4th birthday party. It was a good little bash, got to see Sarah and Todd's new abode, and it too was nice.
But what did ol' grandpa do but throw in the new Niner in the back of the car , and Southwestway Mountain Park was only 4 miles from their house.
Great party but the trails are a callin'
Unlike my home course at Towne Run Park ( a race track ) this is 8.5 miles of pretty techanical trails. Not a place for a newbie.

I finally made it all the way up on the 4th time after finally finding the right line up and the right gear to be in . The new bike has the RIGHT gear for this .
This is a place were you have to practice at, you get skills on a course like this . Its not fast like Towne Run, but in time will be as fun.
A lot of pretty great views at certain parts of the course, looking down at the White River, the same river that Towne Run lines.

This has a lot of wooden bridges to cross, skinny single track with drop offs of 75-100 feet, logs to jump, rocks, gravel all kinds of hazards.
It's sharpens your skills for sure.
So after a hour and a half, a few tumbles with no damage to bike or body, load her up and head back north.

I need to make Southwestway a every 10-14 day ride, it will only make a better rider of me .
Also it is next Saturdays location for the DINO series.
I 'll run on Saturday and it looks to be a challenging run, and I may race the bike there on Sunday , or go to Moto GP.
I'm thinking the park will always be there, Moto GP just Sunday .
