What a Difference a Day Makes

Beautiful sunshine asI head over to the church to do a short run on the cross country course. I am planning the Holiday Park Trail 5 mile race tomorrow, and as you know yesterdays run was , YUCK.

With a new pair of trail shoes on ( sample from Xterra ) the course was in great
shape, soft but not squishy , and no snow.

It is awesome to see the course 1 day before spring, the fall fertilizing and seeding took
, and the grass is very green. Give it another couple weeks of good weather it will be perfect.

During the year, the resident Red Tail Hawk named RT hangs out at the pine tree portion of the course. As runners pass the 2K mark he usually shrills out his Hawk voice as to tell runners , this is his turf and don't forget it.

In the, as I call it , "the hollow" RT always sails thru the sky and finds his dinner. Natures way or rodent control.

A great run , the course is so nice . With the improvements set for this spring, this place only gets better. The 8K college course will be finished and ready for fall meets.

If you haven't run on the course, you need to. Give your legs a break from the pavement. Learn to love the rolling hills, they make you stronger.

The other plus , no traffic, just a beautiful place to run in the middle of a busy town.
4 easy miles, race tomorrow
