Sudo-Day Off
With a extra hour sleep this morning , and a scheduled day -off, a cup of coffee and I dress to run.
In my many many years of running my considered days off were runs of 3-4 miles , slow, just to keep me loose. My heart rate doesn't work at a workout rate, and in my mind my "day off " runs just keep me in a structured pattern, a excuse to go out and run, keep the habit strong.
So today on my day off , I thought about traveling my roads less traveled the past month.
Out the door , and onto the golf course path. With all the snow the past month, this part of the run was impossible. Today it wasn't that , but still hit and miss for the first mile. By the weekend, the golf course will be a go.
Across the intersection, thru the back of the neighborhood , and onto the lake path, it also will be fine by tomorrow barring a unexpected blizzard. Remember this is Indiana and HS boys basketball sectionals start tonight.
Back home , with a clear head to start the day .
With a race this weekend , maybe a quick 6 miles tomorrow to see if I have any turnover yet, but HEY ! I thought I wasn't running or training to race anymore? Ah, it's a pretty hard habit to break that has took 47 years making. I just hope some medical dude never comes up with a patch for it!
