Time

With my internal body clock always working , my pre-set time to wake for today's 15K, I was up and drinking coffee, glancing thru the sports. Ahh, great Brackett signed with the Colts, this is good.

After another cup of joe, packing various items of clothing for today, I am off to store to pick-up the van and Jason, head to the downtown store, drop off shoes for Smitty, back on I-70 west-bound to Plainfield.

Prior to today's 15k we are set up with our goods for the fine people to hopefully purchase.

As the packet pick-up continues, selling , a little stretching , my butt is still sore from Friday's slow run , that took me totally out of my gait.

Over to Nancy for Aleve, maybe that will help. My plan yesterday for my pace today now has been altered. Start in the very back, and see how it goes for a couple miles. Will it warm up enough?

The morning was perfect, 33 degrees , calm, sunny a great day to run. 8:15 the gun was fired and off we all went. This race travels the majority of Plainfields Trail system, winding thru the park, a great place.

So, my first mile 8:33, still tight, 8:28 better, and I commit to do the distance.

Wasn't my goal Friday , but every mile was within 5 seconds of each other, except for #6, which the race got into me and I dropped 20 seconds, but other than that it was what it was. 8:28 pace .
I was hoping for 8 min pace, about 1:14 and change , but remember, I am not training to race, yea right!

At 1:18 a day long ago that was a training pace for 13 miles, but I was younger then. Still I am happy with the outcome, my parts feel fine after working the rest of the day , tomorrow I should get 6-8 more in, look forward to the DINO trail race next Saturday.
What a wonderful day today, and everything is still hooked together.

  1. Mile 6 was also very windy and slow. I think there was a hill, about 3 or 4 feet tall, that probably took it out of you, too.
