No hurry to get out today, another day off run, Spring Fling 15K tomorrow in Plainfield, so just a slow loop around the lake.
Depending on the level of fitness you are in, your ( in my case) my gait needs to be equal to that fitness level.
These days a smooth pace, 70% heart rate, is in the area of 8: oo to 8:15 min a mile. Slower than that , my gait suffers and I begin to feel different body parts.
So under a fireball of a sun this morning, a jog in daylight which hasn't happened to much this year, I took a slow loop around the lake , 4 miles at 10 min pace. I am pretty sure that will be the last time at that pace for a while. I was just making the movements. I guess it did as intended, a day off with running, but several little parts felt the change .
So prior to events maybe this year , maybe a couple miles with a little turnover, or the bike , spinning to get blood pumping.
It has been a very good first 2 months in the running area of life, and now as spring is around the corner , 17 more days, its time to get in the crowd and mix it up.
4 slow uneventful miles.
