Indy's Big Day
Here are the reasons:
Traffic near the Speedway at noon is nothing more than Sunday morning residential traffic
The biggest day in Indy is today in Speedway Indiana.
The Indy 500, the biggest single day sporting event in the world.
So after the morning run, a quick shower, so I can begin to sweat again on the 4th turn, its off to the race.
I am not much for the 6 hours before, sit a home a watch on TV and for the past several years I head to the track from Carmel via my Diahutsu Pick-up at 11:15am.
Here are the reasons:Traffic near the Speedway at noon is nothing more than Sunday morning residential traffic
All pay spots outside have happened and that leaves anywhere for the little 4' by 6 ' ** 4 wheel drive truck
to go
I head into the neighborhood near the 3rd turn and its there every year .... my spot
Next to a telephone pole with that big angled cable attached to the ground. It's about 50 inches wide, thru grass ( 4 wheel drive ) and nothing to block you when you leave .... perfect
Nothing else fits or can get to it ... but the PUG Truck
A short walk to the stands, grab a beer, have a seat and within 15 min the fly over, and the race starts
From home door to seat 45 min, awesome, back home after pretty much the same
As for the run, no legs today so 5 miles . Lots to do today so why be tired
