Water Sports

70 degrees at 2 A.M. this morning and raining like a mother. All that snow Friday , and all the rain last night, I knew my run today would be an inspection run of Cool Creek thru the golf course.

Did I think it would be a normal start along the cart path ? No, the path ended at the first cart bridge

I just cannot make it from point A to point B

I take the high cart path and on the edge of the sand trap are Ducks in Heaven, water everywhere

Cool Creek usually is just a babbling brook, and the one bridge I could get on I probably shouldn't have . Th e water was really moving fast.

This was why at the end of the bridge I had to turn around and find another way to the road and the flowing well trail, which I am sure is also under water

Yep, only a couple hundred yards in , see the bridge in the background. That's the bridge to cross little Cool Creek, and below is looking at it from 116th street, the only way to continue the run.

Ahhhhh. The flowing well, a place to get the fresh water to drink

Not today , the well is underwater . Makes you wonder when you can drink the stuff again ?
The golf course was a mess today and the groundskeepers will have quite a bit of cleanup , but the adventure run was fun once I made it to solid ground .
50 degrees tomorrow . The temps just keep teasing us , but it will be great soon . March is tomorrow , crappy weather isn't done, the HS boys basketball tournament starts and we are sure to have bad weather sometime during that .
Reminds me of when we ran there a couple years ago on a warm late-winter/early spring day and the course was flooded. I remember running down a fairway with water above my ankles. It was a great run.
