With Robin not swimming this morning, we slept in to 6:15 am, so my run would begin after she headed off to school. In my desire to travel a different course, I decided for the Northview 7 mile loop. The snow was nice but accumulation was more than I thought.
Within the first 1/4th mile I knew I needed my trail shoes, as snow kept packing under my foot, but onward I went .
At 5am in the morning , traffic is non existent, but at 7:30 not a good thing.
Every main street stop and go , stop and go , still early pace was feeling OK.
This loop takes you to the highest point in Hamilton County, or Carmel's hill.
Everything was ok except for traffic, again stop, start. Finally into the Northview property and a chance to run , well until the downhill part of the road. Pretty slick, so a went to very edge to get some traction, ( wrong shoes ) and down toward Hazel Dell.
Northview east going downhill,
Hamilton County's highest point
Well the ol' stop start again as traffic really heavy and path still had plowed snow on it . As I get to east side of Bay Hill , another place I can get going again, but by now the rythm is gone and just let me get home.
To the bottom part of the lake , stop , step, start, stop etc and out to my street for the final mile.
There is never a bad run, just being able to go out and have a hour to your self, stay healthy is worth it.
My thing during the week is early AM, when I can have the road pretty much to myself and at whatever pace , make it smooth.
As I made it home , I saw my poor little bike. It looked very sad and wanted to know when it got to go out and play. SOON!
My Orange "One Niner" wanting to go play
