Thru the Hills
After last nights computer crash at home ( my timing computer ) I was up at 4:45, coffee going and hooking up my older Vaio laptop, ( old things are tough) and I kept trying to talk myself out of today's run.
So after I had laptop, on auto update, I headed out the door. It was clear as glass outside , and cold, but after last month's snow cover, everything was clear.
As I closed in on my "decision street" I opted for a route that will take me to the Carmel Hills. Now these are not in any way to be confused with Brown Country, Ft Harrison or Eagle Creek, but its all we have without driving .
Eden Glen and Cool Creek is part of the course of the old Carmel Classic 15K. A terribly hot run in June back in the day. It just happens to go thru original $$ neighborhood in Carmel. Beautiful older homes, huge trees, winding and rolling street, Carmel's Hills.
As I enter the neighborhood, I pass houses with stories. Ah, this one here is where lets call him Mikey, he stayed here during a very public trial, he later moved to a gated community in Plainfield for 3 years. On down the road, over there a late night funny guy, is his Mom's house.
On around the rolling loop, there is Holly's , she knows who she is, and Shane's crib. Oh on the right . Boom Baby! This downhill part, really drops for a couple minutes, hang a right for 100 yards, then back up for a couple minutes.
During that old race in the summer, running hard , this couple miles of rolling hills ended at 6.5 miles, and with a little under 3 to go , it hurt, but it was a great race.
Really glad not to blow off today, I ended in daylight to a
blue sky and ready to take on the day
Good easy pace , call it 6 miles
Sunrise is heading West
