After a busy weekend, 7 wonderful road miles yesterday and hit the grass for 6 this morning , and with weather a bonus , it put on my Avi-Stoltz Trail shoes.I really like them but this is the only pair of shoes over the past ga-zillion years that I have issue's with rubbing my heel.
Rubbing it until its red and starts to blister. Again today with the grass wet after 4 miles I felt the burn.
Yea and then I began to try to change my gait to finish up, but with DINO trail race this weekend I sure don't need a raw heel.
So I stop and consider just heading back to the car, but why not finish up barefoot?
Off come the shoes and socks and with about a half mile left, the dew on the grass was cool to just about cold , it felt pretty good. Well it felt really good . I know what my buddy Doug is now talking about. I may need to keep this up a couple times a week at the course. Training in my racing flats on the road feel really good, but this barefoot thing is pretty cool too!
5 miles on grass, last run on old trail shoes . New Montrail's should be here this week !!
Them nice feet.
