Out Early
Up at 4:45, Robin off to 5am swim, so a cup of coffee and on with the shoes for a hopefully great start to the week .

It is strange that running in the dark you seem to be moving faster, the miles seen to go by quicker. It may be because you are most paying attention to you surroundings and not worrying as much about how you are feeling.

This dark clear morning was a perfect temperature, no wind  and I felt great. I was in a very comfortable pace from the get go.

As dark became daybreak I found myself heading south down Hazel Dale Parkway for 3 miles .
I have done this 3 mile stretch often, and it is easier heading south than north.

It's not a hill but just that gradual incline over a long distance that you feel. Doesn't hurt or anything, you just notice it.

The same thing when I ride my bike to the downtown store, going easy, coming home that gradual up all 18 miles.

So as the run began with no breaks in stride due to the time I ran, it was feeling so good I thought about adding a 3 mile loop until the first stop.

Morning traffic at a place I needed to cross. It seemed like I stood for a hour. By now the flow was gone , that short stop and stand just said jog down this way and jump onto the golf course an head to the barn.

A mile and a half thru the path, well it was a good cool down, think positive, because the first hour was heaven

9 miles feeling fine
