Slow Morning
As good as the runs have been the past week, the past two mornings have been SLOW.
Don't feel bad, maybe a little tight in the back again but just not much drive in the ol' legs.

So tomorrow a total day off of running and biking. That is not to say I won't be busy.

The FlashRock cross country meet at the church.  It's big !  2054 High School runners in 6 races followed by 600 4th and 5th graders in the PUP running series.

Preparations for the race are done , shirts printed , bib numbers and timing tags ready to go, coaches packets waiting.

Last night I marked the course and painted the start line and starting boxes. This morning we will put up the finish line area fencing.  This is the prelude to 7am tomorrow when everything happens.

At the crack of dawn tomorrow volunteers arrive to eagerly awaite the arrival of about 5000 people on the grounds. Parking folks park a couple thousand cars, at the bus parking say 90 school buses.

The first race is at 9am but the place will be packed by 8:15, a huge colorful tent city. Knock on wood this is the 4th year for the meet, and things go pretty well, but everything has to be in place for it to happen.

So tonight I will get a mountain bike ride in and get ready for a full day of fun at the cross country course , and watch a lot of kids hard work pay off at the finish line .

5 mile slow
